HATHA YOGA

Weekly class Thursday 7:30 p.m. - duration 1h15 For harmony of body, mind and spirit.

Course progress

The course begins with a time dedicated to refocusing, then the following are covered:

    Asanas: physical postures

It is predominant. The postures are maintained, which requires intense mental focus and letting go of physical effort.

    Pranayama: breath control

It allows the calming of the mind and an improvement of Prana (Vital Energy).

    Dhyana: intense focus

A time of meditation will be offered to end the sessions. Contrary to what one might think, meditation is not a moment of relaxation but, on the contrary, an intense effort of concentration.

There is no age limit for practicing yoga! In fact, most postures are adaptable according to the possibilities of each person.

TECHNIQUE HORTON

Lester Horton was an American dancer, choreographer and teacher (1906-1953).

The technique he created, known as the "Horton technique", has no style of its own. It emphasizes the body as a whole and an approach to flexibility, strength, coordination and mastery of one's own body in space to free, without restriction, expression.

“I have sincerely tried to create a dance technique based entirely on corrective exercises, create from knowledge of human anatomy, a technique that will correct physical defects and prepare a dancer for any type of dance, which he may wish to understand, a technique having all the basic movements which govern the actions of the body, combined with a knowledge of the origin of movement and a sense of artistic conception” - Lester Horton.

This class is accompanied by a percussionist.
